I know dry shampoo is nothing new, but I think I’ve found a great way of using Batiste without leaving those tell-tale white patches and getting another great day out of your blow dry.
So I’ve debated revealing that I think hair nets are quite handy for fear that you all think I’m some old crone but... I’ve found photographic evidence that suggests I’m not the only one who has found use for a hair net.

Before I go to bed, I give a quick spray of dry shampoo to the temples and one at the crown to give a little boost – it’s what I call ‘pre-emptive dry shampooing’. Then I roll my hair up into a hair net and pop my night cream on before I go to sleep.
By the morning, the white spray of dry shampoo has disappeared and my hair looks just as fresh as when I’ve just washed it.
Why Batiste? I’ve tried a few different dry shampoos, including Superdrug and Boots own brand and I’ve not been impressed; I keep coming back to Batiste. It’s the best I’ve found and has lots of lovely different smells to try out.
Why a net? Well because my hair is now quite long and very fine. If it gets messed about too much the ends start looking really straggly and unattractive. If my hair gets over my face it’ll get night cream on it, and that can make it look a bit lank. This is a way of getting my hair out of my face and to stay relatively still overnight.
I will leave you with just one thought though, from a lady in Florida whose marriage problems began when her husband began wearing a hairnet to bed.... click here to read more.

ROFL Sara - you've not convinced me entirely…I think Brian would run a mile if he saw me with a hairnet on. I'm with you in the Batiste love - I just give my head a good shake to get the white residue out :) xx
ReplyDeleteI'm not a morning person at all, and half the time I'm still a bit asleep when I leave the house, so that stops me from running out with grey bits in my hair :/
DeleteI laughed at your post ...but I may very well try this! I'm usually blonde all over but since dying my hair ombre and my roots being darker I always end up with the talc-y residue from using dry shampoo visible on my roots.
ReplyDelete...I'm off to ask my Nan if she has any spare nets ;)

ReplyDeleteThanks Genevieve! Haha this post is a bit random, but sure it works for me!
Deletelol such a funny post! I think it's clever and am wondering if it would work on my daughter who has uber fine hair that looks as if it's been chewed by a kitten every morning! The hair net I mean - not the batiste ;)
ReplyDeleteNic x
Might work, though your daughter also may detest the hair net. and pull it off. It's not exactly a good look ;)
