Long lasting red lips and a movie star encounter

This week I was incredibly lucky to be invited to witness Liam Neeson be conferred with the Freedom of the Borough of Ballymena.

It was a pretty big deal for the town I've grown really fond of, and the event was full of government and council representatives, as well as local business people, other special guests and me!

I knew whatever I was going to do with my makeup it had to be super long lasting. So here's what I ended up with.

A recent convert to red lips I opted for a little drama coupled with a neutral shaded eye.

Products used:
Clarins Lisse Minute primer (not pictured) - review here
Dior Forever Foundation (mix of shades 001 & 002),
Inglot creamy concealer,
MAC Prep + Prime loose powder,
MAC bronzer,
Urban Decay Primer Potion - more here
UD Naked Basics palette,
Bobbi Brown gel liner in black,
Laura Mercier eyebrow pencil
Rimmel Lash Accelerator Endless mascara and
YSL Touché Éclat.

I used MAC lipliner in Cherry and then Lady Danger lipstick and found Urban Decay's Naked Basics palette is a great accompaniment to strong lip colours.
It's got just about every colour you need to give subtly sculpted eyes - and just the right shades to give a great smokey look.

I fixed everything in place with a mist of Urban Decay De Slick and All Nighter sprays, which stopped me getting too shiny and kept my face firmly on.

I've got to say, through a drinks reception, four courses, then coffee and lots of excitement - my makeup stayed perfectly. It didn't look caked on to start with and I was really pleased to find how well everything stayed put.

I couldn't go without giving a quick peek at my accessories and my beautiful new sparkly Pegasus brooch from Pluck and Devour. It's my third P&D piece and this was custom made for me I'm completely in love with it!
